State profile/product, thickness or manufacturer system, colour/finish, dimensions, quantity, accessories and project location.

Check the delivered thickness, profile, lengths/coverage, colour, quantity and visible condition before dispatch or site acceptance.

Thickness is measurable. “Normal gauge” is not.
The quotation should state the intended thickness in millimetres and the basis on which it will be checked. Profile geometry, purlin spacing, sheet length, wind exposure, roof pitch, fastening and workmanship still matter; thickness alone is not a structural design.
- Use an appropriate calibrated micrometer.
- Measure representative points where the instrument can seat properly.
- Be clear whether a coated-product value refers to base material or finished thickness where that distinction applies.
- Record the readings against the order reference.
- Use competent independent testing for unresolved technical disputes.
Fabricators need a production specification, not a colour promise.
Dimensions
Thickness and width should match the forming requirement and be written on the purchase order.
Commercial quantity
Net weight in kilograms or tonnes should reconcile with the agreed commercial basis and receiving control.
Material data
If alloy, temper or coating is critical to forming or end-use, request the current supplier/batch documentation before buying at volume.
Repeatability
Record coil identity and approved specifications so repeat orders can be compared with the same production requirement.
Never copy dimensions or performance from another brand.
Bond, Classic, Shingle, Roman, Milano and Shake are profile families. Technical performance belongs to the exact manufacturer/product being supplied.
Identify the product
Approve the physical profile/colour and record the manufacturer or supplier identity available for the order.
Calculate from effective cover
Panel dimensions, tiles per square metre and weight must come from the exact technical data—not a generic market table.
Use the installation guide
Minimum pitch, batten spacing, overlaps and fastener method can differ. Install from the selected system's current instructions.
Keep warranty evidence
Warranty terms, exclusions and required installation/maintenance conditions should be retained with the project records.
Approve the material, not a phone-screen colour.
Roof colours shift with screen calibration, lighting, viewing angle, weathering and production variation. Use a current physical swatch or identified supplier reference where colour is important. For phased estates or future extensions, keep the product and colour reference in the project file.
- Do not invent RAL matches unless the supplier formally identifies one.
- Do not promise “never fades.” Exposed finishes age differently by system and environment.
- Match visible accessories against the approved roof material where possible.
- Explain that a new replacement may not perfectly match an older weathered roof.
Quantity is part of the specification.
A professional order connects the roof plan to the primary covering, cut lengths or panel coverage, and every junction-specific accessory.
Measure
Break the roof into planes and record slope dimensions, not floor area alone.
Map junctions
Identify ridges, hips, valleys, walls, penetrations, eaves and rainwater routes.
Calculate
Use the exact production profile/effective coverage for the material selected.
Reconcile
Check the cutting list, quantities and accessory schedule before production.

Mill documents are useful only when they match the material.
Evermetal retains mill or supplier quality documentation for identifiable imported aluminium coil batches where such documentation is supplied. A valid review checks the lot/batch identity, size, alloy/temper where stated, weight, referenced standard, test results and issuing/inspection details before the document is relied upon.
- Match the certificate to the specific lot or batch.
- Reconcile the stated dimensions and weight with the purchase/receiving record.
- Review chemical/mechanical values only against the stated standard.
- Do not use one certificate as a universal claim for unrelated coils or future batches.
